Lloyd of the Flies (LotF for short) is a British 2D/3D hybrid animated children's series created by Matthew Walker and produced by Aardman Animations as the company's in-house CGI debut series. The series premiered on 20th September 2022, being postponed one day due to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral broadcast on 19th September, and its last episode premiered on 10th February 2023.

Synopsis[]

Lloyd of the Flies follows the slice-of life adventures inside the house of a Biggo (what humans are referred to by insects in this universe) who lives in the United Kingdom, pacifically that of a tweenaged housefly called Lloyd usually with his best friend Abacus and/or younger sister PB, exploring life beyond his home in a rotten apple in a compost bin, maybe learning some life lessons along the way.

Publicity[]

An official website was launched for Lloyd of the Flies in 2022 under the URL "lloydoftheflies.tv".[1] It featured several sections to browse. The main characters could be read about in the 'About' page, crafts and phone backdrops were available in the 'Activities & Downloads' section, and the 'Gallery' section showcased fan-created art.

On release day, the series received a game on Roblox called Lloyd of the Flies: Buggin' Out!. The premise of the game was to collect 20 of Lloyd's maggot siblings across the kitchen. Lloyd gave you crumbs (money in the game) for every 10 maggots you collected, Abacus looked after the maggots and PB sold upgrades to help you with getting around and finding maggots as well as accessories for your character.

Around 11 March 2025,[2] the website was closed down alongside that of Morph for undisclosed reasons. All the website's links currently redirect to the Aardman website's page for Lloyd of the Flies,[3] which also contains a Lloyd of the Flies Bug Hunt event page[4] amongst other pages related to the show.

On 24 June 2025, it was noted that the series' Roblox game Lloyd of the Flies: Buggin' Out! was no longer accessible due to it being private for undisclosed reasons.

Events[]

In Spring 2025, the Lloyd of the Flies Bug Hunt event happened once again in Wetland between 5 April and 1 June, now being joined by an emperor dragonfly named Dart.[5]
