HiT Entertainment Limited (now doing business as Mattel Television) is a British-American entertainment/distribution company owned by Mattel and originally established in 1982 as Henson International Television. It was founded as the international distribution arm of Jim Henson Productions.
HiT is the owner and distributor of television shows including Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Pingu, Kipper, Barney & Friends and Angelina Ballerina. In February 2012, the company was acquired by Mattel.
HiT also distributed Aardman Animations television shows on DVDs along with Lionsgate from 2008-2012, including Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Timmy Time.
